There is a lot of talk about the benefits of responsive sites. This might be old news, but I just came across another little use case I had not noticed before.
I was browsing around and came across a reference to a company. I was curious where it was so I brought it up in google maps on my iPad. The street view photo was strange, so clicked the web site button to make sure I had the right place, expecting to be taken to a web browser.
So Google maps brought up the web site in a small window on the same page! Worked well because the site was responsive.
The google functionality may be old news, but the lesson to me was a responsive site can be more easily used in new innovative tools and projects not known about today. Responsive may be a way to future proof your site. How about a Pinterest of web sites for example?
